The Bible Stories Project
New Release: Path of Jesus

bsvp0001The Bible Stories Video Project (BSVP) is a visual video library of reenacted Bible stories designed to make the scriptures come alive.  They are historically accurate, culturally appropriate, and highly dramatic stories of the life, miracles and parables of Jesus.

We've completed 30 stories .  Series 1 and 2 are stories of People Who Met Jesus and how their encounter changed their own lives forever. The third in the series is The Parables of Jesus, seven teaching stories that Jesus told his followers. The Path of Jesus, our newest release, continues with the theme of the past three programs, giving viewers a peek into Bible times and the life and teachings of Jesus. Path includes: The Christmas Story, the Temptaion, Jesus and the Pharisees, the Pharisee and the Tax Collector, the Decision, the Absent King, and the New Covenant.   The four DVDs are ideal for small group studies, Christian education classes, or as the Scripture presentation for preaching or teaching. They can be ordered from VisionVideo.com.

In addition, the stories were specifically designed to be embedded in broadcasts.  They are available with music and effects tracks only, which can be easily and quickly replaced by a voice-over in any language.  In fact, they are already licensed and being dubbed for broadcast in more than 24 languages.

Honors for Parables of Jesus

International Christian Visual Media is a consortium of producers and distributors trying to make a difference in the world through visual media. Delegates come from all over the world to network, discuss projects in development and receive spiritual refreshment and challenge. The conclusion of the convention was an awards dinner and presentation of the Crown Awards and IMM’s Parable of Jesus received the Bronze Crown Award for Best Series and the Bronze Crown for Best Documentary over $50,000. For more information on ICVM, check out ICVM.

.
Our distributor to English speaking parts of the world and for subtitle broadcasts, Vision Video, solicited endorsements for Parables. We received the following recommendations: "Since the advent of spoken language, fables, parables, and stories have been used as teaching tools, so it's not surprising that the man hailed by the Christian world as the master teacher employed parables in his lessons as well. Hosted by Christopher Gornold-Smith, Parables of Jesus presents dramatic recreations of seven parables found in the New Testament, each introduced and placed in its historical and cultural setting…A fine nondenominational introduction to a handful of Jesus' more famous parables, this is recommended." Video Librarian, May/Jun. 2006

"Due to the fact that the culture Jesus lived in was different from ours, some parables He told are difficult to understand. This DVD helps viewers comprehend and identify with Jesus’ stories by portraying seven parables He told and explaining them in relation to the cultural background. Each parable is narrated and acted out simultaneously… DVDs of this nature tend to be boring; but in this one the parables are told in new and interesting ways, and the information is intriguing…The culture is depicted excellently by the use of objects that were common during Bible times. Bright colors, good photography, and pleasant music add to the quality of the film. Parables of Jesus is a great source of information about the cultural background behind the stories Jesus told. This DVD will be useful for Sunday schools, small groups, or other Bible studies, and a church library should have it available." Church Libraries, Summer 2006

Jonathan Singh Gets His Second Wind!

Our children's video series, "The World of Jonathan Singh" was originally produced in English as well as Bengali, but is currently being translated into Spanish for Latin and South America. We recently heard that a fellow missionary is making progress on the Icelandic translation. In addition, parts of WJS will be translated and used to make new Kenyan children's programs in Swahili.

Sometimes we do more than MTXC training -- such as installation,  consultation,  equipment design, engineering, building a studio, launching a media center or production facility for a national church or missionary.  Such was the case in Jordan (photos) and Bangladesh (photos).   IMM installs radio towers, trains announcers in places like DRC (Congo), Malawi, American Samoa, and  supports national media ministries in places such as Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, and Romania.
